I am a motivated individual who decided to combine my interest in computers with my artistic inclinations. Originally, I applied to Alamance Community College to take a Graphic Design class and a second class in Computer Programming. After my first design class, I was hooked, and enrolled in the two-year degree program. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my two years here, and intend to seek employment in the graphic design field.
Awards and achievements include the President’s List, Outstanding Leadership Award, Foundation Scholarship, Wooten Family Scholarship, Leonard and Jane Miller Scholarship, and the Myron and Sarah Rhyne Scholarship. During my time at ACC, I was treasurer of the Visual Arts Club, team leader for the Explorer magazine layout team, as well as team leader for the promotional videography team assigned to Horticulture.
My other interests include music, animals, and the outdoors. I play several musical instruments, including the flute, piccolo, and oboe, and in recent years have participated in the Phoenix Winds combined community and university band at Elon University, as well as the Alamance Chorale. I have three horses, two cats and a dog, and have previously ridden horses extensively as well as training them, giving riding lessons and showing.
